Four of Oakville Gymnastics Club’s top tumblers have officially been invited to compete at the 2018 World Age Group Competition in St Petersburg, Russia. Emily Harrison and Helen Dong will compete in the 15-16 Women’s Tumbling Age division while Emma Chau and Ben Rybka will compete in the 17-21 Women’s and Men’s Age divisions respectively. This event is the largest and most prestigious Tumbling competition in the world. Athletes who compete for team Canada can truly say there are among the best on the planet. Congratulations to these four Oakville athletes on being named to the Canadian Team. These athletes had to compete in Montreal and Lethbridge in order to qualify, beating out the competition from across Canada while achieving an elite standard of excellence in both execution and difficulty.
One additional OGC Tumbler, Elizabeth Karam, met the qualifying standard and currently sits 6th in the 17-21 Women’s Tumbling division. There is still a possibility as the second alternate that she may be named to the team.
Good luck to these athletes as they prepare to take on the world this November.
