We are all incredibly proud that OGC’s acro coaches, Scott Middleton and Greg Boosey, have received the High Performance Coach of the Year award from Gymnastics Ontario.
This annual award is given to coaches who have exemplified commitment, personal achievement, and positive image; demonstrated commitment to safe and ethical coaching practices; been a leader in the successful advancement of active healthy living opportunities for children and/or youth; trained to become a better coach through education and training; and demonstrated their ability to improve the performance of the athletes they coach.
We see this exemplified by Scott and Greg on a daily basis. It’s in the way they use their wealth of knowledge to develop training that has repeatedly taken young athletes with limited gymnastics experience and transformed them into world class acrobatic gymnasts.
It’s in the way they will have the kids endlessly work a skill in the belt until it’s consistent to be absolutely certain that they will be safe executing it. Most of all, it’s in the way they give each and every athlete a big hug immediately after they walk off the competition floor, regardless of how they perform.
