OGC had 11 athletes named to Team Canada for the Pan American Acrobatic Age Group Championship.  Another 7 athletes competed at the Club Cup event for Team Oakville. Every partnership came home with some hardware, gold, silver and/or bronze.  It was an exciting and challenging event. It might have been the most beautiful venue the athletes have competed at with the mountains in the background and seeing the clouds through a clear domed roof.  However, the open air meant the athletes had to deal with bugs, heat, humidity and sunshine on the competition floor. With determination they overcame these challenges and represented Team Canada and Team Oakville with pride, great sportsmanship and confidence.

Colombia welcomed Canada with open arms. Many locals who had never watched an acrobatics competition, were amazed at the skill of our athletes and quickly joined in the cheering for Canadian teams.  Canada certainly made their mark with the local media as Sara, who speaks Spanish, was interviewed for a local news show and Mariana and Paul (with several other parents) were interviewed for a morning TV show.
