OGC athletes have returned from Puurs-St. Amands, Belgium. It’s been a few years (before COVID) since OGC participated in the Flanders International Acro Cup (FIAC). It was a well organized competition with a lively venue that allowed for great views of the competition floor. Thank you Nunzio Izzo for the amazing photography and for capturing our athletes in action! The beautiful nearby town was enjoyed by parents and athletes as there was some time to explore the picturesque streets and sites. Perhaps it will become a regular event for OGC.

The competition was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Starting with a high note let’s give a huge shout out to Jorden, Karyzza and Lauren who performed a beautiful final combined routine to finish 1st out of 26 teams in the 12-18 women’s trio. Way to go ladies.

Unfortunately, a stomach bug kept one partnership from competing their first routine and had several others under the weather. Some performances fell short of their expectations reminding us of the inherent unpredictability of the sport. Yet, it is in these moments of
triumph and adversity alike that the athletes true mettle is tested. It is through perseverance and resilience that they continue to grow and evolve. We celebrate the athletes hard work and dedication that keep them reaching for excellence. A renewed sense of determination and commitment to improve will make them ready to tackle the next challenge.

There was still so much to be proud of with many partnerships placing in the top 10! Congratulations OGC!
